Meta and Google share ad revenue with content creators on social media platforms like Facebook and YouTube. Twitter is also following the same path. However, this opportunity will now be available only to US Twitter users. Its scope will increase in future.
Twitter, the Elon Musk-owned microblogging site, announced in a tweet Thursday (July 13) the launch of a new program for creators who create content for social media.
They plan to launch the program more widely by the end of this month. Twitter says that all eligible creators will have the opportunity to apply for monetization during this period.
In that case, content creators must have a paid subscription – Blue Badge. Must have more than 5 million impressions in the last 3 months. Also must pass human trial according to the company’s creator monetization standard.
Content creator must be over 18 years of age. There should be a complete profile including account name, bio, profile picture and header image. Also the email address must be verified.
Also, accounts that have previously violated any of Twitter’s policies will not be able to apply for monetization. Twitter account must be more than 3 months old. Must have more than 500 followers.
However, Twitter has not yet given any idea about the exact percentage of dividends paid to content creators or how ads will be displayed on the content.
