Following this, the Taiwanese company Foxconn, which manufactures iPhones, is reorganizing its business. Foxconn has to move production from China under US pressure. However, to retain the market, the company is thinking about the production of electric cars.
Apple’s contract manufacturing company in India has started discussions with several state governments to take this plan forward. Foxconn said India will help build a battery-powered two-wheeler factory this year. The factory will cater to the demand of South East Asia’s battery-powered two-wheeler market.
Foxconn Chairman Yang Liu said in an interview that the United States and China must prepare for the worst as relations sour. Business continuity plans have already been made. In addition, the production of some products related to national security has started to be shifted from China to Mexico and Vietnam.
Foxconn’s specialty is it is the Apple’s iPhone maker. They make more than half of Apple’s products. Apart from this, companies like Microsoft, Sony, Dell and Amazon are also their customers. They had a manufacturing plant in China, but now they are forced to move their manufacturing operations out of China.
