Genesis, a Hyundai-owned company, has set a new record with a drone program after gaining access to the Chinese market. The company has flown 3,281 drones in the skies of Shanghai to promote its logo and other advertisements. ‘Choreography software’ played a key role to control the drone at the event. The software helps the drones avoid colliding with each other and create pre-adjusted shapes.
According to technology blog Engadget, Genesis captured the record by flying the most ‘unmanned aerial vehicles’ on March 29. The company has broken the previous Guinness World Record in this regard.
So far, the record has been held by Shenzhen Damoda Intelligent Control Technology. The company flew 3,051 drones in September 2020. Earlier, the record was held by Russia, who set a world record by flying 2,200 drones just days before losing the record.
The US chip giant Intel has a reputation for such records. In July 2018, they set a world record by flying 2,066 drones in the skies of Falsom, California.
