Texas-based multinational IT firm ‘Dell Technologies Inc’ laid off 6,000 workers due to financial losses. According to the company’s sources, this layoff is due to a decrease in the demand to buy computers. As a result of the retrenchment, the lives of 6,000 workers became uncertain.
According to Dell, the demand for buying computers has decreased gradually over the last two years. Due to which the company incurred 11 percent financial loss. Dell presented this report last month.
According to sources, till February 2024, the number of employees of Dell was one hundred and twenty thousand. The number was 1 hundred 26 thousand earlier.
Earlier Dell also issued strict guidelines for their ‘work from home’ employees. The company informed that those working from home will not be considered for promotion. It should be noted that Dell had the facility to work from home even before the pandemic.
Dell laid off 6,600 workers last year. At the time, the company’s co-chief operating officer, Jeff Clarke, said, ‘Dell believes the market is headed for an uncertain future as a result of the continued collapse.
