He had the nature of a forest bird. Laughter and tears were mixed together in the same tone. The tune that binds villages and towns on paved roads. Showed his innovative talents to stop flush flood using rubber dams; was also involved in the planning of the Metro Rail. So, it is natural that his name comes back again and again in innovation and development.
He is Quamrul Islam Siddique. A Freedom fighter tuned to a skilled administrator; and tireless worker even in bad times. With the touch of his life, colorful flowers bloomed in the Local Government Engineering Department- GED. January 20 is his 78th birthday. His life was like Padma-Bhagirathi in the youth full of youth. He was radiant like the unclouded sun of immortality.
He is still a legendary name for building institutions like LGED during his career; Public Works, PDB, DTCB, Privatization Commission, and so on.
He was a pure soul with frizzy hair, deep vision with an ever smiling face. His behavior was humble and not like a conventional high-ranking official. This man was known as ‘Big Sir’ due to his smart personality. In 1945, he was born with the light on the arms of the late Nurul Islam Siddique, an activist of agricultural development struggler of Kushtia, and Hamida Siddique, a social worker. Then he came and won the hearts. Like a conqueror, he still shines like a star through time, over the pages of memories.
He married Sabera Siddique, daughter of Sufi saint Kazi Abu Mukarram Fazlul Bari, in 1973. But he was never bound by the four walls of the house. He was a dreamer, and a man of conviction. He inspired all his four children to become ideal people forever. Like his children, the junior colleagues were bound by the bonds of affection. Friends still remember him every birthday. Happy birthday, the glowing soul!
