Banglalink has introduced monetization on its Toffee platform at “Toffee Con”, an assembly of popular content creators, at a hotel in Dhaka. Toffee app can be downloaded from the Play Store and App Store on Android and iOS devices and Android TV. Some content can also be viewed on its website.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak attended the event as the chief guest, said a press release issued on Friday.
He inaugurated the event by opening a channel and sharing a video of The Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s historic March 7 speech on Toffee.
Present at the event were Upanga Dutta, chief commercial officer, Banglalink, Taimur Rahman, chief corporate and regulatory affairs officer, Banglalink, and other high officials of the company and 300 content creators from all over Bangladesh.
Toffee introduced the monetization opportunity on its user-generated content (UGC) platform for content creators. The inauguration was followed by a panel discussion on
“Prospect of Content Creation in Bangladesh”.
Panelists of the discussion were Ali Ahmmed, chief commercial officer, Bkash Limited, Tanvir A Mishuk, founder and managing director of Nagad, and prominent actor Tariq Anam Khan.
The state minister said: “Today’s youth are passionate about creating content for digital platforms. I am delighted to see that a homegrown platform like Toffee is providing monetization facilities for creators. Such initiatives will be instrumental in making Toffee a hub of empowerment for creative young minds.”
Upanga CCO of Banglalink said, “Along with expanding the fastest 4G network across the country, we are now focusing on bringing quality digital services and enhancing them with advanced features. I am confident that Toffee’s monetization facility will empower young content creators by opening up earning opportunities for them.”
