State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the Central Oxygen Supply Service at Singra Upazila Health Complex in Natore. With the funding of Abul Khair Group, this central oxygen supply system was introduced at 64 points including 50 beds in the health complex.
On Wednesday, the state minister inaugurated the service by launching the service online by connecting to his constituency online from Dhaka and distributing 50,000 masks among the people of the area.
Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that there is no alternative to wearing a mask on regular basis, maintaining social distance and washing hands with soap and water for 20 seconds after coming from outside to protect oneself from the coronavirus.
The state minister said as soon as the coronavirus was detected in the country, the ICT department launched five continuity business plans under the direction of the prime minister to keep public life normal, including health, education, supply, internet connectivity and entertainment.
Under the leadership of ICT Adviser Sajeeb Wazed, the Prime Minister has built various infrastructures in the IT sector in the last 12 years, making it possible to keep everything online, including telemedicine services, entertainment and classroom activities, judicial activities during the Corona pandemic.
While speaking with the people of his constituency, he mentioned that new strains of the coronavirus, the invisible enemy of mankind, are on the rise; To protect ourselves, our families, our country and above all our future generations, he affirmed that the “strict lockdown” and guidelines announced by the government must be followed strictly.
Numerous technology infrastructures have been created to make it easier for the people of the country to get services. The health sector is functioning with a number of technology services including tele health, tele medicine, ma telehealth centre. The ICT department has launched website-Corona.GOB.bd with the latest information on corona infection situation.
The state minister called upon the government as well as the business community, affluent individuals and institutions and political leaders and activists to come forward to ensure life-saving oxygen facilities for corona patients at the district and Upazila health complexes.
The state minister also said that security equipment would be distributed future as per the demand of the people of the area.
Dr. Khurshid Alam, Director General of the Department of Health, Natore District Civil Surgeon, among others, spoke on the online platform while the Deputy Commissioner of Natore Shah Md. Riaz chaired the programme.
