For the first time in the history of Bangladesh, the tenth conference of the Alliance of Developing Countries D-8 is being held virtually. Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen presided over the conference which started on Monday.
Apart from Bangladesh, the first Youth Summit was held on the first day with the participation of youths from Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, Nigeria, Pakistan and Turkey.
‘Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Transformation’ called for a common technology hub for eight countries.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Zahid Ahsan Russell, Youth Minister of Egypt Ashraf Sovi, Minister of Youth of Indonesia Zainuddin Amati, Minister of Youth of Iran Masood Solanifar, Minister of Youth of Malaysia Rezal Merikan Naina Merikan, Minister of Youth of Nigeria Sande Akin Dare, Pakistani Minister of Youth Muhammad Usman Dar, Turkish minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet M. KASAPOĞLU and Bangladeshi State Minister Shahriar Alam spoke on the event.
Salman Hossain, a participant from Bangladesh, stressed on the importance of developing the skills of the youth in technology as well as the D-7 countries to move forward together. At the same time, Shobha Rahman of Bangladesh emphasized on knowledge sharing among the youth of the countries.
Fahmida Faiza from Bangladesh also presented a paper in Group A and Pavel Sarwar, President of Youth Hub from Malaysia joined the conference.
