Daffodil International University has held a ‘Physical’ conference to coordinate digital and physical education. 2 days long ( March 15-16)Teaching Learning Conference program titled ‘International Phygital Education Summit – iPES 2021’ organized in the virtual platform by the Human Resource Development Institute (HRDI) of Daffodil International University (DIU) ended. iPES 2021 is a gathering of students, teachers, practitioners, and policymakers from different parts of the world and will put emphasis on the teaching and learning practices as well as the formation of online education policy in the New Normal context in the post-Covid era. The events and activities include innovative teaching-learning practices, experience sharing, student voice, expert panel discussions, and workshops.
These workshops will be conducted by prominent scholars from reputed universities of UK, USA, Canada, Australia and many other countries.
Senior Secretary of ICT Division N M Ziiaul Alam, PAA was present as the chief guest at the Certificate Awarding ceremony of the summit while a2i Project Director Dr. Abdul Mannan, Additional Secretary of ICT Division Bikorno Kumar Ghosh and were present as the special guests. Presided over by Acting Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Mahabub Ul Haque Majumder, the program was also addressed by Dr. Md. Akteruzzaman, Convener, Ipes 2021 and Director, Blended Learning Center of Daffodil International University, Mohammad Nuruzzaman, CEO of Daffodil Family. Ms. Tahsina Yeasmin, Associate Head of the Department of English moderated the program.
Speakers in the summit said that there is no alternative to blended learning to build future leaders in the education sector. ‘As the pandemic has harmed us, it is also benefiting us in some ways. For example, Digital Bangladesh has become a true digital Bangladesh in this time. The practice of online platforms has increased. Teachers also have transparency in teaching. Video record of their teaching has been archived. These are undoubtedly positive aspects. ‘Phygital’ is an excellent phrase. This phrase will be discussed in the future. He thanked Daffodil University for introducing such phrases.
Speakers stressed changing the education system to keep pace with the times. Not only sound education but now we also need employment-friendly education. Daffodil’s seminar will play a role in making education up-to-date, speakers opined. Speakers thanked Daffodil University for introducing a technology-based education system from the very beginning.
