Along with different parts of the world, the pink moon has also been sighted in the sky of Bangladesh. A powerful telescope was installed on the roof of the administrative building of the National Museum of Science and Technology at Agargaon in the capital to see the moon. The moon was observed by students and locals at the observation camp through telescope for two hours after sunset on Thursday in the evening.
This moon in pink color was seen in different parts of the country including the capital city-Dhaka. Many people are posting pictures of the pink moon seen in the country’s sky on social media.
However, the pink moon has been seen in various parts of the world for several days. But it can be seen brightly in the sky of Bangladesh today. CNN published a report on this last Thursday. It said the sky would be bright with a ‘pink moon’ from Friday morning to Monday morning. But the brightness of the moon will be the highest on Saturday.
According to the book ‘The Old Farmer’s Almanac’, the pink wildflower ‘Phlox subulata’ blooms in the spring in Northeastern America. With this, the match of the moon is sought. The plant is commonly known as creeping phlox, moss phlox or mountain phlox.
Noting that the ‘pink’ moon is associated with festivals of several religions, including Christianity, Hinduism and Buddhism, CNN also reported that the pink moon or ‘bak paya’ in Sri Lanka commemorates the arrival of Gautama Buddha in the island nation. According to Hindu religion, pink moon is ‘Hanuman Jayanti’.
But this pink moon of April cannot be called ‘Super Moon’. According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, a book on weather forecasting, astrology and horticulture, rain is likely when the full moon fades in April.
CNN meteorologist Judson Jones said rain is likely this week. Especially in the US Midwest. The faded moon will be seen there.
