Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan got maximum 209 votes in general category in the election of Executive Council of ISPAB for 2024-26 period. On the other hand, Fouad Muhammad Sharfuddin was elected getting the maximum 347 votes.
Among others who won 9 general category posts in the polls held at BICC were: Imdadul Haque 199 votes, SM Zakir Hossain 186 votes, Mahbub Alam Raju 168 votes, Md Asaduzzaman Sujan 156 votes, Mohammad A Qayyum Rashed 148 votes, Anwarul Azim 147 votes, Sabbir Ahmed got 128 votes and Sakif Ahmed got 120 votes.
On the other hand, Md. Nasir Uddin got 344 votes, Mohammad Anwar Hossain got 310 votes and Mahmudul Hasan Arif got 296 votes among the remaining three winners of associate category.
This information was acknowledged from the results signed by Election Board Chairman Nazrul Islam Babu on Saturday night. The distribution of posts of the Executive Council (EC) will be held on March 18 (Sunday) among these 13 elected members.
Abdullah H Kafi and Birendra Nath Adhikari were the commissioners in this election. Commerce Ministry Deputy Secretary Abul Kalam Azad was present as an observer. At one-point DTO Director General Maleka Khairunnessa also came to the center to raise questions about the election situation.
After the polling started at 10:20 am and ended at 4:1 pm, Birendranath Adhikari said that 636 out of 756 votes were cast in the associate category and 222 out of 248 in general votes. Earlier, he expressed his annoyance about the voting environment.
ISPAB has 399 ordinary and 1604 associate members. Among them 250 voters are in general category. There are 14 candidates for 9 posts. On the other hand, there were 11 candidates against 4 posts of associate members.
