It has been prohibited to carry a mobile phone or a device with cameras inside the booths
On Saturday, March 16, the election of the Executive Council for the term of 2024-26 of the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh-ISPAB will be held at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital. During the voting period from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, mobile phones and any kind of devices with cameras are prohibited in the booth.
On Friday in the afternoon, this decision has been taken by ISPAB Selection Board Chairman National Assembly Whip Md. Nazrul Islam Babu to keep the voting free from any pressure or influence. In the meeting, the other two commissioners J.A.N. Abdullah H Kafi, Managing Director of Associates Limited and Birendra Nath Adhikari, Director of Excel Technologies Limited and Chief Executive Officer of Information and Communication Technology Industry Skill Development Council were present.
The independent candidates expressed their gratitude by thanking the Election Board for this decision. Among them, Saiful Islam Siddique, Managing Director of ICCC Communication Ltd., who competes in ballot number 8, expressed his gratitude to the commissioners on behalf of the general voters and wrote in his Facebook status, “I hope that the voters will be able to celebrate the polls in a stress-free manner this time.”
According to the ISPAB website, the organization has 399 ordinary and 1604 associate members. Among them, 250 voters are in the general category. There are 14 candidates for 9 posts. On the other hand, 11 candidates have been nominated against 4 posts of associate members. 756 voters will exercise their right to vote. The distribution of posts of the Executive Council (EC) will be held on Sunday, March 18, among the 13 elected members.
The candidates for 9 posts in the general category in this year’s polls are – Saiful Islam Siddique of ICC Communication Limited, Moin Uddin Ahmed of Red Data (Pvt.) Limited, Sabbir Ahmed of Xord Online, Md Zobair Al Mahmud Hossain of Banglanet Technologies Ltd., Ashraf Uddin of Dhaka Tech IT Limited, Optimax Communication’s Md. Imdadul Haque, Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan of KS Network, Chittagong Telecom Service’s Md. Anwarul Azim, SM Zakir Hossain of Unified Core, AM Kamal Uddin Ahmed Salim of BCL Online Services, Sakif Ahmed of Infolink, Mohammad A Qayyum Rashed of Triangle Services, Md. Asaduzzaman of Antaranga.com and Mahbub Alam of Circle Network.
On the other hand, candidate for associates – Freedom Online’s Md. Arman Hossain, Digital Communication’s Mohammad Alamgir Hossain and M.S Zubair IT Expert Md. Zubair Islam, Masood Rana Jiban of Unique Net, Raisul Islam Tuhin of Tuhin Enterprise, The Winner IT’s Md. Ahid Ullah Swapan and Dipankar Barua Shimul of Green Broadband Network Service, Md. Nashir Uddin of Speed Tech Online, Sun Online’s Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Fisa Communication’s Fuad Muhammad Sharfuddin and Md. Mahamudul Hassan of The T Network.
