The State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak inaugurated the ‘Health Service Management System’ software for the online patient registration process at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital on Saturday, February 3rd in the evening.
Sylhet City Corporation Mayor Anwaruzzaman Chowdhury; Sylhet Additional District Magistrate Imrul Hasan; Sylhet Additional Superintendent of Police Sheikh Md. Salim; Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Principal Professor Dr. Shishir Ranjan Chakraborty; Divisional Director (Health) of Sylhet Division Dr. Md. Harun-or-Rashid were present as special guests in the program. Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital Director Brigadier General Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan presided over the event.
The speakers expressed hope that the quality of service of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital will be improved through the implementation of the ‘Health Service Management System’ adopted for Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital under the ‘Digital Sylhet City’ project. They sought the help of Information and Communication Technology Department to implement the Smart Sylhet.
The State Minister Junaid Ahmed Palak, while speaking as the Chief Guest said that, under the ‘Digital Sylhet City’ project, ‘Health Service Management System’ with 31 modules is under implementation for Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. After the implementation of this program, the patients coming to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital will get easy services.
“Each patient’s separate electronic health record will be stored on the server. As a result, even if a patient’s previous medical records or printed documents of various medical tests are lost, it will be possible to find those out if necessary. Also, if the same system is used in other hospitals, a patient’s medical record can be accessed from all those hospitals as well. Through this software, other activities of the hospital will also be brought under digitalization”, he added.
The journey of this program started at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital under the “Digital Sylhet City” project of Bangladesh Computer Council which functions under the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Government of Bangladesh.
