The elections for the 2024-2026 term of ISPAB has been scheduled on March 16. ISPAB President Imdadul Haque has announced that he will go to the 13-member panel for the election with 4 people from the small category while keeping the election. The 21st Annual General Meeting of the Internet Service Providers’ Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) held on Saturday also hinted at small ISP service providers taking up general membership within the first three months of the new term of office.
ISPAB president Imdadul Haque, while speaking as the President at the meeting held at the RAOWA Convention Center said that, he has outlined the plan to transform internet services into smart services by taking everyone’s criticism into consideration while sustaining the business.
The ISPAB president also demanded the promise of making ISPAB apps live within the next 3 months for the members and the facility of ISP Cache Server for 5 years at BTCL compound in 64 districts for quality service.
He also said that it is not possible to provide quality internet service below 1500 taka. So, in this regard, everyone should work together to improve the quality of service and take the business to a smart level.
Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan, the General Secretary of the organization, said in his welcome speech at the meeting, “We don’t want politics in ISPAB but want policy for livelihood. The development that did not happen in 23 years has happened in 2 years”.
After the welcome address, minutes of the 20th Annual General Meeting of the organization held on 11th April 2023 were approved. Then the treasurer Md. Asaduzzaman Sujan presented the audited accounts of the fiscal year 2023.
The ISPAB Senior Vice President Saiful Islam, Vice President Md. Anwarul Azim, Joint Secretary General Md. Abdul Qayyum Rashed and Mohammad Anwar Hossain and Director Md. Zakir Hossain, Mahbub Alam, Sakif Ahmed, AM Kamaluddin Ahmed Salim, Fuad Muhammad Sharfuddin and Md. Nasiruddin were present at the AGM.
