Prime Minister made the opportunity universal to become a skilled worker: Palak
580 women from Natore, Sirajgonj and Jaipurhat districts got one CORE i5 laptop each who received a 5 months training under the ‘Her Power’ project to empower women with the help of technology. The Posts, Telecommunications and ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak handed over this laptops to the ladies so that they can be self-reliant to achieve financial solvency after getting trained in four categories and a 1-month of internship.
He handed over the laptops to the trainees at the Sheikh Kamal IT Training and Incubation Center premises in his constituency, Singra of Natore. He said that, if the trainees want to become entrepreneurs, startup Bangladesh will invest 5 million to 50 million for them. For this, the State Minister called upon them to prove their quality.
Addressing the trainees, Palak said, this laptop- a tool to conquer the world is a special gift from the Prime Minister. For the smart employment of women, he said, lest the money spent for them shouldn’t go wasted. He mentioned the total expenditure per trainee, as 65 thousand taka for a laptop and 43 thousand taka for training.
Mentioning that he is still under the leadership of a woman, the state minister further added while speaking as the chief guest that. ‘a country and a nation move forward by creating equal opportunities for all without discrimination. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has brought about a social revolution by giving 60 percent female quota for primary school teaching jobs. This has reduced the trend of dowry. If we men and women work together, the country will move forward. Success comes when you move in full swing, not half force. For that ‘She Power’ was happily approved as the new project named ‘Her Power’. Meaning the prime minister, Palak said, “she wants to build a smart Bangladesh in 2041 by combining women with the power of technology. She made the opportunity universal to become a skilled worker. Widening development and employment at the village level through decentralization”.
Director General of Information and Communication Technology Division Md. Mostafa Kamal presided over the program while Raihana Islam, Project Director of ‘Her Power Project’ delivered a welcome speech.
Natore Assistant Superintendent of Police Aktaruzzaman, Singra Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mahmuda Khatun, General Secretary of BFDS Mahfuz Rahman, TMSS founder Hosne Ara, Singra Municipal Mayor Jannatul Ferdous and others were present at the event, “laptop distribution among trainees”.
