On the occasion of the Great Victory Day, a colorful painting competition based on the spirit of liberation war and patriotism was held with the participation of children at the National Museum of Science and Technology-NMST on Saturday. A large number of children and teenagers participated in it. Children and teenagers expressed their thoughts about liberation war, independence and digital phase to smart Bangladesh transformation with paint and pencil.
While speaking to students and parents, Director General of Science Museum Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said, “What is patriotism? Its spirit should be inculcated from childhood. If the parents are not ideal, how can the children be ideal? Therefore, parents should set an example of honesty, equality and patriotism in front of their children. The number of honest and patriotic people in the society is gradually decreasing. We are losing the values and equality for which the liberation war was fought for a lot of blood. To move the country forward, we must reflect honesty, integrity and patriotism in every action and thought.”
Addressing the parents, Director General Munir Chowdhury further said, “Don’t separate children from family and social ties. Do not keep them under house arrest. Don’t immerse your children in too much technology, too much luxury and too much comfort. They need to be nurtured and disciplined to encourage them to focus on studies and morals. Do not create greed or infatuation for talented children of the country to go to Europe or America. Education in the natural environment and the practice of local food should be increased. Children should be saved from mobile phone addiction. The position of Bangladesh in the world map is very glorious. So with the great aim of building the country and prosperity of the country, the children should be developed as scientists, researchers, doctors, engineers, BCS officers and army officers. They have to understand whether there is discrimination against anyone. When inequality creates conflict of interests and destroys social bonds, a nation becomes weak.”
