‘Smart Election Management BD’ app has been opened for all citizens. The Election Commission has published the app on these four basics: ‘Home, Information, Results and Analysis’. Access to the app is available only after registration with mobile number registration and NID.
However, since the ‘Election Progression is in Process’, initially the ‘Information’ section is now active for users. There is a notification mentioning- ‘Result’, ‘Election Day’ and ‘Result Analysis’ features are coming soon. And as per the information conveyed in the app manual, the app will give the information and rate of vote casted ‘every two hours on the day of voting’.
As soon as the election starts, citizens will be able to get voter number, polling station name, candidate, party and seat-wise information from the app, as well as other types of information
In this, a voter can easily know the necessary information before going to the center to vote. EC Additional Secretary Ashok Kumar Debnath expressed hope that as in previous years, you will not have to get into trouble about where to go or at which center to vote; similarly you will not have to go to the polling station to find the number.
He told digibanglatech.news over telephone that the ‘Smart Election Management BD’ app has been released with commission approved features. The information is being updated step by step after the announcement of the schedule. Whenever the task is completed, its information will be added to the app. According to the decision, after voting starts from 8 am, the number of votes collected in 42 thousand centers will be published on the app at 10 am, 12 pm and 2 pm and 4 pm.
In response to a question, he said that even if it is not possible in this election, initiatives will be taken so that all citizens can use the app, apart from the visually and hearing impaired.
While using the app, the user’s voter number will be displayed on the home page as soon as registration is done. Of course, the polling station name, address, location of the polling station on Google map should be shown here; currently, it is writing ‘Election procedure in process’. According to sources, the gazette of polling stations will be finalized at least 25 days before polling.
This page is now showing information about the 12th and 11th Parliament elections to touch the ‘Data’ button below. At the beginning there is information about the constituencies. Then there are at-a-glance registered political parties and notice board buttons. Constituency information will include division wise constituencies, candidate identity and polling station information for that constituency.
At-a-glance button contains the information of total voters, women, men, parties, candidates. The Registered Parties button contains 44 registered parties and their icon images randomly, not in order. However, there is no scope to know any information about the parties from here.
The ‘Notice Board’ of this post is regularly updated with circulars issued from time to time. But the home page of the app has two links named election information and results, but there is no information about the code of conduct of voters or candidates.
The matter was not further clarified after making a phone call to the System Manager of NID Wing of EC Md. Ashraf Hossain, since it was not possible for him to get the information as System Engineer of Information and Communication Technology Department Md. Rafiqul Haque was engaged in an official meeting.
