59 citizen charter services of Dhaka district administration have been added to myGov (mygov.bd) platform launched to ensure all government services of the people at one address. Dhaka District Administration Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate Anisur Rahman inaugurated the digitized services as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony organized by Dhaka District Administration with the technical support of Aspire to Innovate-a2i on Thursday (November 9). a2i’s Project Analyst (Deputy Secretary) Mohammad Salah Uddin and Additional Deputy Commissioner Mumtaz Begum were present at that time. The event was chaired by the Dhaka Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Kazi Hafizul Amin.
In the opening ceremony, Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Anisur Rahman urged everyone to come forward to combat against corruption. In this way corruption can be stopped to a large extent. It is our aim to gradually move towards paperless office by introducing smart services, to ensure maximum service in less time and cost, to ensure online payment of money (service fee/VAT/advance tax) to government exchequer. He also said that Bangladesh has become a middle income and digital country. Now the rent is being paid at home. A citizen can avail services at home. We want to deliver these services smarter to the citizens. Citizens can take 59 services online at home. Dhaka District Administration has moved a step forward by digitizing a2i’s myGov services in line with the announcement of Smart Bangladesh by Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
The 59 services of Dhaka District Administration added to myGov are: Dealing license of essential products, Duplicate license and license renewal application, total of 51 services, minority group certification/certificate application, freedom fighter child/grandchild certification application, examination center permission application, education Application for appointment of presiding officer of the institution, application for nomination of parent member in ad hoc committee, application for certificate regarding project feasibility of NGO group, application for nomination of academic person, application for distance certificate for setting up of various educational institutions/teaching.
It may be noted that a2i Smart Bangladesh under the jurisdiction of the Cabinet Department and Information and Communication Technology Division and managed by UNDP is working to facilitate citizen services through information technology. As an integrated service delivery platform (web and mobile application), myGov (mygov.bd) has the opportunity to integrate the existing e-service systems of ministries and departments or organizations.
So far, a total of 1,892 digitized services including 1,200 citizen services are available on the myGov platform built by a2i initiative. Currently myGov has more than 40 lakh registered customers. Of them, more than 2.7 million service applications, more than 2.6 million have already been processed. Apart from this, myGov citizens do not have to provide information repeatedly to get services once they have posted the information. Every time the application is made, the information in the citizen’s profile is auto-filled. It reduces time, cost and travel a lot. Citizens are able to express their satisfaction and opinion about MyGov services. In continuation of this, 59 services of Dhaka district have been taken under the scope of digitization in the MyGov Rapid Digitization process.
