The Seventh Colorful Fest ended with the display and sells of self-made products by entrepreneurs from different parts of the country. In this two-day festival, there were 80 stalls with the products of 160 entrepreneurs. Speaking as the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the festival, the ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that as Facebook’s platform for entrepreneurs, WE has probably set the precedent of the largest platform in South Asia. Now crossing the boundaries of Asia, they are presenting the story of the progress of Bangladeshi women in London and various universities around the world. We are proud of their progress. They will continue this streak of success. By adopting the government’s pro-business policies, successful women entrepreneurs will strengthen the country’s economy.
Meanwhile, the ICT State Minister commented that the country will move forward on the path of progress by holding the hands of entrepreneurs with the help of capital, training and technology rendered by the government. He said, if technology is used, entrepreneurs can turn from zero to millionaires.
He said that Saudi King Salman’s vision will create immense possibilities for Bangladesh, and Riyadh can be our next market. There are 2.8 million expatriates and 30 million Saudis. We are in discussions with Saudi Post. We are hoping to have this opportunity for these women entrepreneurs at a low cost soon
He said, a wire house will be set up in every district for e-commerce entrepreneurs. In addition, in the third chapter, 5 thousand women entrepreneurs will get seed money of 50 thousand taka each.
While speaking as the President, WE President Nasima Akhter Nisha said that an entrepreneurship competition will be held soon with the students and participants who completed the master class. From there 100 entrepreneurs will be brought who will be taken to the international level. This is the WE Evolution chapter.
In his welcome speech at the event, WE Advisor Kabir Saqib said women are lagging behind in access to finance. They need training on when and how to repay the financing for being from a sole trader to a successful entrepreneur.
Alamgir Alam, director of Jamuna Group, said that financial evaluation of women’s domestic work hours is a demand of time. There is no need for a special day for women. Let every day be Women’s Day. Lagging women must now be brought into leadership.
