An educational session titled ‘Metrorail: A Scientific Revolution in Mass Transportation’ was held at the National Science and Technology Museum on Sunday.
Officials of various government and private institutions, teachers, students and all levels of science museum officials participated in the event.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL) Director (Joint Secretary) Dr. Md. Moshiur Rahman presented the main article in the seminar. He elaborated on the multidimensional aspects of Metrorail.
While speaking as the Chairman of the seminar, Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, Director General of National Science and Technology Museum, said, “Metrorail is a time-friendly, people-friendly, women-friendly and environment-friendly public transport. It is our moral duty as citizens to ensure safe and careful use of this vehicle. Besides, the use of private cars should be limited and natural resources should be protected to leave a safe future for future generations. Metrorail’s contribution to keeping Dhaka city pollution free is immense. The present government is giving importance to rail communication. Whether the Metrorail can be run on solar power in the future should also be taken into consideration.”
Besides, The National Museum of Science and Technology Curator Masudur Rahman and Director A.K.M. Lutfur Rahman Siddique also spoke in the seminar.
