Under the Learning and Earning Project, the ICT Division gifted one laptop to 318 freelancers of Dhaka Division. At the same time everyone was given certificate and identity card. ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak handed over certificates to 10 successful freelancers who have earned income from home with the power of internet at the conference center of ICT Tower in Agargaon of the capital on Wednesday (February 1).
Addressing the critics raised about the contribution of the government to the contribution of a freelancer using computer and internet, the state minister said that if Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had not delivered internet and electricity to homes, there would have been no opportunity to do freelancing at home. She has brought internet to remote areas at a cheap price. This became possible due to the steps taken under the guidance of ICT advisor. Now 6.5 lakh freelancers have been created. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has contributed to the life of every freelancer by creating opportunities on the internet. She also removed their identity crisis. 4 percent cash incentive has been offered on their foreign exchange earnings.
Palak expressed his apprehension about the experience of using Google’s ChatGPT, noting that the mindset of jobs is changing rapidly in the wave of changes of the fourth industrial revolution. At the same time, he suggested updating the qualifications of freelancers.
He said, I will work with that knowledge for the whole year after studying a subject in the traditional way. But this conventional idea of meditation has undergone a radical change. Yesterday, AI was a minor part when entering the career after graduation or post graduation from CEC, but today it has become a major part. Since yesterday, I have started using Elon Musk’s Open AI ChatGPT. I wonder in some cases; I am afraid that the way artificial intelligence is able to do routine work; our daily tasks will be done by robots in the future. Therefore, we need to acquire competence in the work of the changing world. Four such skills are suggested by our ICT advisor. These are AI, robotics, micro nanochip designing and cyber security. So you need to reskill and upskill your skills.
Palak also urged freelancers to become entrepreneurs to create jobs for millions of people.
