Lohagara Science and Robotics Olympiad 2022 was held a month ago. At that time, during the activation phase, it was informed that research lab Chittagong will hold a robotics fair organized by the Upazila administration and financed by the National Science and Technology Museum. In that context, a Robotics Fair held in Chittagong’s Lohagara on Saturday (November 5). Over half a hundred robots were on display at the Robotics Fair.
Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, director general of the National Science and Technology Museum, said at the opening ceremony of the fair, “Science and technology innovation is not only for exhibition, it should be used successfully in improving the quality of life, environmental protection, food safety and law enforcement. The inventions of young scientists should not only be shown as models but also ensure their advanced application through research.
In the speech of the chief guest, he also said that robots are not only for one-day exhibition, robots should have real applications in increasing productivity, immediate prevention of fire accidents, prevention of road accidents, disaster management and even medical work. There is a lot of potential talent spread in the villages and remote areas of Bangladesh, the National Science and Technology Museum is sponsoring research and innovation at the marginal level to develop those talents. Science clubs across the country have been given huge financial incentives over the past three years.
In addition, the Director General of the Science Museum said that billions of taka have been given to modernize the labs of educational institutions, which is increasing the interest in science education. But in this case science teachers have to be aware of many responsibilities. A lot of talent has been lost due to neglect and disrespect in the village. National Science and Technology Museum’s mobile science exhibition program will be spread across the country to make science education attractive.”
The presence of little scientists at the marginal level in the fair led to the awakening of science in this marginal Upazila.
