While speaking as the Chief Guest, the Expatriate Welfare Minister Imran Ahmed praised the ICT State Minister Zunaid Ahmed Palak and said, I was once the president of the parliamentary committee of the ICT Ministry. I now seek the leadership and cooperation of Palak to move my ministry forward through digital transformation. This digital transformation will save expatriates from fraud.
At that time, the minister said, we launched 999, then handed over to the Ministry of Home Affairs and 333 to the Ministry of Health. But today I feel proud that information and communication technology can play a role in the whole approach. As a part of this, all activities of Ministry of Expatriate Welfare are being done digitally through Ami Probashi app. This initiative will play an important role in shaping the future Smart Bangladesh.
The state minister commented that agriculture, RMG and diaspora are the main driving forces of the economy. Out of this, 12 million workers send their hard-earned remittance to feed us. Now it is possible to earn foreign currency while working staying in the country. For this, human resources should be developed as skilled workers. Smart Bangladesh will be possible only if technology is used in these three sectors.
