Architect Yeafesh Osman, Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology told the students, “You have to rise to great heights by practicing knowledge and science. I would like to see you in a similar position as the girl who brought the honor of the country to the top of the Himalayas. Girls can also keep the signature of talent and ability parallel to men. Bangladesh, which has cost the lives and blood of many people, should be taken forward.
The minister opined so while speaking in a science lecture on the role of science and technology in modern urban management held on Wednesday (21 September 2022) at the Biodiversity Gallery of the National Science and Technology Museum with children from Milestone School in the capital.
Earlier, the minister presided over the 18th meeting of the Board of Trustees for Science and Technology Development at the auditorium of the Science Museum.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees Ziaul Hasan, heads of various government agencies, and senior officials of various ministries participated in it.
In this meeting of the Board of Trustees held chaired by the Director General of the National Science and Technology Museum, Mohammad Munir Chowdhury, was decided to provide a financial grant of 61 lakh taka to 32 educational institutions and science service organizations across the country for the purchase of science materials and the organization of science competitions.
The minister said in the meeting, “Bangladesh has come a long way. Technology and progress move in parallel. But with the awakening of science, there must also be an awakening of values or the benefits of science and technology will not be reaped.”
