Team ‘Instinct’ won the second meet of Data Hackathon and eventually became the Champion while ‘Nampi finished’ and ‘Viking Raiders’ appeared as the second and third position holder respectively. As prize money, the champion team has been awarded Tk. 2 lakh, the second place team got Tk. 1.5 lakh and the third place team got Tk. 1 lakh.
In the second meet of Datathon, Nuren Shams and Yaminur Rahman as the best data engineers and Abdul Basit and Partha Ghosh as the best data scientists received Tk. 1 lakh each.
The closing ceremony of the second meet of Datathon, the country’s largest platform for recognizing the talent of data scientists and data engineers, announced the names of the winners at a hotel in the capital on Wednesday (August 17).
Posts and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar adorned the event as the chief guest while Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education and Malaysian High Commissioner Haznah Md. Hashim, were present as special guests.
Peter Pan Junfeng, CEO of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited was also present at the closing ceremony.

We are proud to highlight this aspect as a top digital operator by organizing the second meet of Datathon. It is noteworthy that, more than 2,800 competitors from 11 countries participated in the second meet of Datathon. After intense competition, 100 contestants divided into 25 teams got a chance to participate in the final round. The 25 selected teams then faced tough competition in a two-day hackathon.
Internationally recognized data scientists and Artificial Intelligence (AI) professionals served as judges for the Datathon. Among them, there were: Professor Paul Morrissey, Global Ambassador, AI/BDA TM Forum; Md. Anwarul Arif Khan, Results Management Expert, Aspire to Innovate (a2i); Ramana Jampala, President & CEO, Avlino; Huang Weiming, Head of Marketing and Solutions Sales, Cloud Department, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Limited and Mohammad Arif, Data Scientist, Cognizant.
A panel discussion titled ‘Data Science for Smart Bangladesh’ was also held at the closing ceremony. Mohammad Kaykobad, Distinguished Professor of Computer Science and Engineering Department of BRAC University, Professor of Institute of Business Administration (IBA) of Dhaka University Dr. Syed Farhat Anwar, President of Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services Russell T. Ahmed and Robi Axiata Ltd. Chief Strategy Officer Ruhul Amin participated in the panel discussion.
The panel discussion was moderated by Saheed Alam, Chief Corporate and Regulatory Officer, Robi Axiata Limited.
