The State Minister for ICT, Zunaid Ahmed Palak said that within the next 5 years, employment will be created for 3 million people across the country. Expressing hope that Bangladesh will become more prosperous than many oil-rich nations with data analysis-based solutions. He said, we have already drafted the Data Protection Act for the security of our data. This law will be formulated with the opinion of stakeholders from all corners. It is expected that an additional investment of BDT 2 to 2.5 crore will come here (in Technocity and Felicity IDC Internet Data Centers). In the next 10 years, 50 thousand more people will be employed in Hi-Tech Parks. Hopefully, we can build an ecosystem in the hi-tech township during this period. In this way, digital services will become the main driving force of the country’s economy.
The state minister expressed such optimism in his speech as the chief guest at the meeting after the inauguration of Bangladesh Technocity Limited and Felicity IDC Internet Data Center in Gazipur’s Hi-Tech City on Sunday.
Felicity IDC CEO Shariful Alam highlighted the business benefits of the new data center at the event.
Fiber at Home Chairman Moinul Haque Siddiqui presided over the event, Hi-tech Park Managing Director Bikarna Kumar Ghosh and BTRC Vice President Subrata Kumar Maitra also shared their views.
While speaking as the chief guest, Zunaid Ahmed Palak advised the investors not to delay because it will be difficult to find space in the hi-tech park in the next few years if they are not far-sighted from now.
Commenting that Digital Bangladesh is now enjoying the fruits of visionary decision of the Prime Minister’s ICT Advisor Sajeeb Wazed, he said that there is no empty space in Kawran Bazar. Now is the right time to invest in Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City. So now with little investment, business can be started in Hi-Tech Park at low cost. Whether it is hardware, software or BPO business, the facility we have here cannot be found anywhere in Bangladesh.
The state minister believes that all these arrangements made by the government are for the youth to become entrepreneurs instead of being employed to build a cost-effective, innovative and sustainable smart Bangladesh. He said that the Prime Minister has already given BDT 500 crore by forming the startup company Bangladesh. I have started investing 100 crore Taka. If someone applies to the Hi-Tech Park, we can also give them equity investment opportunities from there.
Commenting on data security, the country’s economy will be strengthened, the state minister also said that 3 million jobs will be created in the hi-tech park within 5 years.
