The ’15th International Children’s Film Festival Bangladesh 2022′ started with the slogan ‘Frame Frame Agami Sapna’ (Dreams of future in frames) organized by Children’s Film Society Bangladesh like every year. Connecting online, Dr. Hassan Mahmud, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh inaugurated the festival on Saturday (March 5) virtually.
Attending the function, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak said, “It is not the job of the ICT department to provide only internet connection or constructing hi-tech parks.” Apart from this, it is one of our responsibilities to build new industries. To that end, we have launched a project to create mobile apps and games. I have taken initiative to make animation film.
“We can’t do the role that a 5 minutes film can play in society even with 10 hours of political speeches,” he said. That is why we need a cultural revolution to build an innovative nation by Vision 2041. Such activities should be encouraged to awaken humanity in people. For this, we are playing a 12-episode game called Hasina and Friends to end the unfinished cultural revolution of the ICT department Bangabandhu. Through this, children will be taught morality and values.
Palak said the ICT department will have a special allocation to hold this festival every year. By converting the two-storey Muktijoddha Complex of 64 districts intoa four-storey building, an India-Bangladesh Education Training and Entertainment Center will be set up in 200-300 seats to build a healthy and strong generation.
The inaugural ceremony was presided over by the President of the Children’s Film Society of Bangladesh Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal. Niazul Haque, Director General of Morshedul Islam Film Archive, Founding Director of Children’s Film Society Bangladesh, Munira Munni, General Secretary of the Society, Professor Yasmin Haque and Director Shahriar Al Mamun were present.
