After being disconnected for 28 hours, the power supply was restored to the residence of the Vice Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology. The agitating students returned the connection as 30-35 employees of the university were also connected to their homes and patients had problems in their homes.
The power connection was restored around 12:30 pm on Monday. Earlier, the protesters cut off the electricity and water supply at around 8pm on Sunday.
Students have been protesting in front of the Vice-Chancellor’s residence since January 17 demanding his resignation. 24 students started hunger strike at that place from last Wednesday which caused the Vice Chancellor Farid Uddin Ahmed under siege since then.
