The newly elected BASIS Executive Committee for 2022-23 term has officially taken over the responsibility. A Touhid, the first president of BASIS, administered the oath of office to the members of the new committee at Bashundhara Convention Center on Thursday night.
Earlier, on behalf of the former presidents, the outgoing committee was greeted with flowers. Former presidents including Shamim Ahsan and SM Kamal were present at that time.
Former President Syed Almas Kabir then handed over the BASIS flag to the new President Russell T. Ahmed. The members of the new committee were welcomed with flowers. The former president of BASIS was found overwhelmed with emotion at that time.
In his inaugural address, Russell T. Ahmed emphasized the importance of maintaining the dignity of all members. At the same time, he said that the plan of BASIS has been highlighted as the year of ICT products declared by the Prime Minister.
Speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony, Salman Fazlur Rahman, Investment Adviser to the Prime Minister, expressed his admiration for the organizational strength of BASIS.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak was virtually connected even though he was not physically present. Representatives of top government and non-government organizations in the sector, ambassadors of various embassies and representatives of financial institutions were present in the installation ceremony.
