The newly elected executive committee of the Internet Service Providers Association (ISPAB) officially took over on Thursday after members were elected by direct vote. The old committee handed over the responsibility to the newcomers at the annual general meeting held at Rawa Club in the capital.
Mahmud Shahed, executive director of the ISPAB secretariat informed, three members of the old committee and one member of the new committee could not attend the meeting due to the pandemic situation. However, in the meeting held with the participation of more than 100 members, the budget for the new year has been passed and the audit farm has been appointed. Indeed, audit farm Zoha, Zaman, Kabir, Rashid & Co, has been re-appointed by the committee.
In the meeting, the former President Aminul Hakim answered various questions of the members present.
Along with the current chairman of the new committee Imdadul Haque, secretary general Nazmul Karim Bhuiya and senior vice president Saiful Islam were also present at the meeting. Another vice president of the committee, Md. Anwarul Azim; Joint Secretary General Md. Abdul Qayyum Rashed and and Mohammad Anwar Hossain; Directors of the committee Zakir Hossain, Mahbub Alam, Sakif Ahmed, AM Kamaluddin Ahmed Selim, Fouad Muhammad Sharfuddin and Md. Nasiruddin along with others were greeted with flowers and received warmly. Staying out of Dhaka, only the treasurer Md. Asaduzzaman was not present at that time.
Earlier, the old committee passed all the meeting minutes of last year. At the same time, in the presence of new and old committees, this year’s budget was passed which was almost one and a half times more than the budget of last year aiming to arrange a fair nationally. A budget of around Tk 3.98 crore was passed at the Annual General Meeting. Of this budget, Tk 3 crore 35 lakh has been deemed as income. Last year, the budget of ISPAB was 2 crore 61 lakh taka.
