Bangladesh Computer Society (BCS), an organization of technology professionals, provided training to its members on Certified Information System Auditor or CISA Exam Preparation. More than 1200 trainees took part in the workshop. The demand for introduction of ICT cadre has come up in the workshop.
The online workshop was inaugurated on Saturday (December 4) by Professor Dr. Mohammad Sharif Uddin, President of Bangladesh Computer Society. At the same time, he said that they had a meeting with State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak on December 1 to ensure that ICT professionals can work in the workplace with equal status as first class professionals, be involved in ICT policy making and get timely promotions. The state minister has responded positively in this regard.
The workshop was conducted by BCS Joint Secretary (Admin) Fahad Zaman Chowdhury and was attended by GM Farooq, Senior Principal Officer, Rupali Bank Limited.
In his presentation, he said that CISA audit is required at every level of information technology, including banking and telecommunication sector. But compared to the global reality, the number of NCI standard CISA holders is very small. There are about 170 people only. Various organizations like ISAKA Dhaka Chapter are working to increase this number. Now this test can be given online anytime. Therefore, it is necessary to take this training as soon as possible to ensure one’s own status and position in the profession.
At one stage of the workshop, Abdur Rahman Khan Jihad, Director General of Bangladesh Computer Society highlighted the importance of the society and its future plans.
In his speech, he demanded to ensure their participation in the implementation of ICT cadre and policy formulation of the government. Jihad also said that various initiatives including formation of committees and establishment of student forums at the divisional level would be taken soon to increase the organizational strength. He also mentioned the preparations for the annual general meeting.
