According to the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC), the total number of mobile users in the country reached 18 crore 13 lakh at the end of October. At this time, the total number of Internet users stood at 12 crore 91 lakhs. Broadband internet subscribers are fixed at one crore and seven thousand as in the previous month.
According to BTRC data, the total teledensity in October was 105.87%. It has increased by 22% in a month. But at this time the Internet density has decreased by 13%. As a result, Internet penetration in October was 74.64%. In one-month, broadband internet penetration has decreased by 0.3% and mobile penetration by 0.1%.
In September, there were 11 crore 87 lakh mobile internet users in the country. At that time the total number of mobile subscribers was 18 crore 2 lakh and the number of mobile internet users was 12 crore 87 lakh.
According to statistics, four lakh new internet subscribers were added through mobile operators in October.
Robi Axiata Limited has also got maximum five lakh new customers during this period. The number of subscribers of the operator is now 5 crore 35 lakhs.
The country’s largest mobile operator Grameenphone has attracted the second highest number of three lakh new subscribers during this time. The total number of subscribers of the operator is now 8 crore 41 lakhs.
Banglalink, the third largest mobile operator, has got one lakh new subscribers. Through this, the total number of subscribers of the operator stood at 3 crore 71 lakhs.
State-owned mobile operator Teletalk received 80,000 new subscribers in October. As a result, the total subscribers of Teletalk are now 64 lakh.
