Xiaomi, which was blacklisted by an executive order from the Trump administration, has finally been released from the list. Xiaomi has been removed from the blacklist of the US Commerce Department following a lawsuit filed in a US court. News Engadget.
In November 2020, former US President Donald Trump called Xiaomi a communist Chinese military company. As a result, any deal or business with the Chinese smartphone maker was banned for the citizens and companies of the USA.
Xiaomi filed a lawsuit in January this year, and the country’s district court issued a preliminary injunction removing it from the blacklist.
Neither Xiaomi nor the United States has commented on the matter. China’s foreign ministry has said it is not officially aware of the matter. However, other companies that have been blacklisted as a result of Xiaomi’s victory are looking for a similar approach.
