Wireless charging is a technology currently being discussed in the smartphone market. Although some companies have already introduced this technology through charging pods, many people expect their phones would be charged without any cable or pod! Motorola is going to make that idea a reality.
The Lenovo-owned company is bringing remote wireless charging technology, where devices can be charged up to a certain distance without a charging pod. To this end, the company has entered into an agreement with Guru Wireless.
Earlier, Motorola did not add wireless charging technology to popular phones to keep the price of the phone low. However, it can be said that they are going to enter the market without any competition. Although the two companies did not elaborate on their partnership, Wireless said they would work on improving the quality, effectiveness and safety of charging.
Since 2015, several companies and startups have been working to bring in remote wireless charging technology, but not much has been done outside of the decorated prototype. And that’s why Motorola and Wireless have teamed up to capture the potential market.
Note that this year Xiaomi demonstrated their MI Air Charge technology, one day this technology is claimed to provide a wireless charging facility to multiple devices simultaneously. But we will have to wait and see when it becomes a reality.
