Shou Zi Chew, the former Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of ByteDance, a company owned by Tiktok, got appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TickTock on Friday. News Engadget.
Chew will take over from Vanessa Papas, the current interim head of international operations, who will take over as COO from now on.
Prior to joining ByteDance, Chou served as CFO and International President at Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi for about six years.
In a statement, ByteDance CEO Yiming Zhang said that under the leadership of Chew and Vanessa, the company has made steady growth. He has deep knowledge about companies and industry. He has nearly a decade of experience working in the technology sector, as well as good relationships with investors. He will take the team much further, including corporate governance and long-term business initiatives.
