The E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) launched the e-Commerce Movers Award (eCMA) to reward e-commerce initiatives that have made a special contribution to combat against Corona. Although this award was given to 100 service entrepreneurs, but is reduced to one-third for the second time.
According to sources, the eCMA 2023 award ceremony will be held on November 9 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dhaka. In the event, more than one will be awarded in 27 categories but it wont be cross 35. A 10-member panel of judges has scrutinized and selected more than 150 applications (last date till October 28).
A total of 27 nomination categories include Best e-Commerce Marketplace, Best Service Platform, Best Logistics for e-Commerce, Best Food Delivery Platform, Best MFS Platform, Best Payment Gateway and various subcategories. However, it is not guaranteed that the award will be given in all the categories. Related sources say that this year’s award is being carefully scrutinized.

e-CAB director and eCMA-2023 Convenor Khandaker Tasfin Alam said that according to the judge’s verdict, the Speaker of the National Assembly Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury will hand over the award to the winners on November 9. Prime Minister’s Private Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman and Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar, State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak and Member of Parliament Nahim Razzaq will attend the event as special guests.
`this e-commerce sector will be the cradle of digital economy of smart Bangladesh. The whole process of ICMA Award is being done in a very systematic and technical analysis hoping to brand Bangladesh in the world by highlighting the promising and multi-dimensional initiatives, and innovations in the sector from national to global context. We want to strengthen the responsibilities of the e-commerce sector by awarding enthusiastic entrepreneurs’, he further added.
