A stakeholder meeting was held on Sunday at the science museum on grievance redressal management. The meeting also discussed about raising public awareness about the Right to Information Act and regulations. In the seminar, officials from various government departments and teachers and students of educational institutions praised the activities of the science museum and said, “The science museum is a vast world of knowledge beyond textbooks, there is a wonderful combination of science and nature.”
While speaking as the president, Director General of National Museum of Science and Technology-NMST Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said, “the science museum will not only have historical exhibits of science, it will also include modern inventions of science. For that purpose, on the basis of the progress and success of nuclear power generation project at Rooppur in Pabna, setting up of a nuclear science center to impart contemporary ideas to young scientists and students is the need of the hour.
He said, there will be a knowledge base at the science museum to give young scientists an idea about the process of nuclear power generation. Munir Chowdhury said that the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission can support the science museum in this work. There is an ongoing debate on alternatives to fossil fuels around the world, and young people need to be involved.”
The seminar speakers emphasized on strengthening the science museum’s outreach activities to create public awareness of its activities.
