The president Md. Sahabuddin has advised the businessmen to be updated with knowledge in information technology. Besides this, he urged the patriotic businessmen and entrepreneurs to adapt themselves to the changed situation.
He made this call at the ‘Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial Award 2022’ ceremony at Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday (October 3).
Referring to the rapid changes in business and trade due to information technology and new innovations, the President said, taking into consideration all national and international situations, demand, supply, etc., you also have to take steps.
Md. Sahabuddin said, in the meantime, there has been a shift from traditional to digital programs in the activities of the Ministry of Industry and it will not take much time to move from digital to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s smart program.
He said, currently our slogan will be ‘Sustainable industrialization is the philosophy of Smart Bangladesh.’
The President also urged to accelerate the socio-economic development of the country and contribute to the construction of Sonar Bangla, the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
In the event, 12 industrialists including owners of heavy, medium, small, micro and cottage and high-tech industrial units in 6 categories were awarded ‘Bangabandhu Industry Award 2022’ for their outstanding contribution in their respective fields.
The President said that this award is a unique state recognition for industrial entrepreneurs or institutions, which will encourage and motivate them to invest in sustainable industrialization and create new entrepreneurs.
Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun presided over the event while Md. Abdur Razzaq, Minister of State for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder, FBCCI President Mahbubul Alam, Walton Hi-Tech Industries Limited Hi-Tech Industries Chairman SM Nurul Alam Rezvi and Senior Secretary of Industries Ministry Zakia Sultana spoke at the event.
A video documentary on the activities of the Ministry of Industry was screened at the event.
