Runner brand has been awarded this year’s Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial Award for exporting motorcycles made in the country by implementing the Made in Bangladesh tagline in the automobile sector. Hafizur Rahman Khan, Chairman of Runner Automobiles PLC received the honor from President Md. Sahabuddin at Osmani Auditorium on Tuesday.
At that time, Minister of Industry Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun along with senior officials of Runner were present.
In the event, the President said that the private industry is contributing a lot for the progress of the country, he hopes that the next 4th industrial revolution will come in the hands of all these industries.
After receiving the award, the Chairman of Runner Group said, “This award from the President is our motivation. I dedicate this award to all my employees who have worked tirelessly to bring this award to Runner Automobile PLC.”
Starting in the year 2000, Runner Group entered the automobile sector through Group of Industry in 2011. Built the country’s largest and world-class motorcycle factory at Bhaluka in Mymensingh. Now there are manufacturing and marketing of various models of Bangladeshi Runner brand motorcycles and parts. Since 2017, by exporting “Runner” “Made in Bangladesh” brand motorcycles to Nepal and Bhutan, Bangladesh has taken the flag of Bangladesh to foreign ground as the first Bangladeshi automobile exporting company and the export industry reaching a new height.
