A victim has filed a case against 20 people in the Barisal Cyber Tribunal on Sunday on charges of fraud in the name of MLM business through Meta Versus Foreign Exchange or MTFE app. Md. Yusuf Ali, a resident of Brown Compound Road in the city, named the so-called six CEOs of MTFE and accused 14 others.
The accused are Mizanur Rahman (48), a resident of Band Road Nurjahan Manzil, his wife Sabina Yasmin (38), Noman Ahmed Sardar (30), a resident of C&B Road, Milan Hossain Badsha (48), a resident of BM College Gate, his wife Mahmuda. Begum (40) and her son Oliul Islam (25).
Judge of the tribunal Md. Ghulam Farooq has accepted the case and is waiting for the order, said the bench assistant Md. Nurul Islam Kankan.
Regarding the case, the bench assistant said that the accused had lured the plaintiff to join the MTFE app. Plaintiff and his other acquaintances opened 10 accounts through accused Mizanur and his wife Sabina. Later, from May 1 to August 1, he deposited five and a half lakh taka there at various times.
The said CEOs said that the server is being updated to withdraw the profit. Later that money was removed at some stage. It was later said that Noman, the so-called main CEO, left for Dubai with the money.
The accused then said that the foreigners left with the money. And lastly, the accused denied taking money from the victim, the lawsuit said.
