In 2022, the Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies APRICOT-22) was hosted by the Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh – ISPAB. But this biggest conference of technical and technology professionals in the Asia Pacific Ocean region was held online instead of in Dhaka due to Covid 19 pandemic. However, next February 2025, Dhaka will again host this gathering of internet engineers- APRICOT 25 at Hotel Intercontinental. Before that, however, the next APRICOT-24 will be held in Thailand in February 2024. The 57th edition of the Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC) will then be held in New Zealand in October.
Paul Wilson, a member of the executive committee of the organization, made this announcement at the end of the 56th APNIC event held in Kyoto, Japan on Thursday. Another executive committee member Sumon Ahmed Sabir from Bangladesh was also present. Shayla Sharmin, a private bank’s system security analyst, won the vote from SIG in this year’s conference and became co-chair of the policy-making stage of SIG.
A 21-member delegation led by ISPAB President Imdadul Haque participated in the conference. ISPAB General Secretary Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan, Director Nasir Uddin, IT Palli General Secretary Wahid Ullah Swapan, DotInternet Proprietor Mithu Howladar and others are included in this delegation.
