The Department of School Education of the Government of Andhra Pradesh in India has announced a ban on the use of mobile phones by students in all schools of the state. This decision has been taken by the government so that teaching in schools is not interrupted in any way.
In addition, bans have also been issued on the use of mobile phones by teachers in the classroom.
All teachers have been instructed to deposit their mobile phones with the head teacher before entering the classroom.
Officials of the Andhra Pradesh Education Department said that this decision was taken on the basis of UNESCO’s Global Education Monitoring Report. This report was prepared by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
In the recently published report, the organization under UNESCO has given an opinion in favor of banning the mobile phones of students in schools. One out of every four countries in the world has banned or enacted legislation.
The Andhra Pradesh Education Department had earlier banned the use of mobile phones by teachers in classrooms. However, there was no strict adherence to that directive.
According to the guidelines of the state education department, no teacher can use mobile in the classroom. Because if the teachers use mobile phones during the class, the study of the students will hamper.
