Experts urged the citizens to come forward to be smart in thought and behavior to build a smart Bangladesh. And to lead the fourth industrial revolution-4IR with ‘Made in Bangladesh’ concept, they called for the formation of a ‘Central Forum’ at the national level for the development of the country’s electronics and automobile industries.
This call was made in the panel discussion on the role of domestic industry in building Smart Bangladesh on the second floor of the exhibition ground of 3 day long ATS Expo 2023 on Friday afternoon at Gulnaksha Hall of ICCB.
Walton Managing Director Golam Morshed, EPB Vice Chairman Md. AHM Ahsan, Professor of BUET Dr. Alok Kumar Majumdar, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Md. Abdur Rahim Khan and Professor Mizanur Rahman of the Marketing Department of Dhaka University spoke at the meeting.
Mizanur Rahman, professor of marketing department of Dhaka University, expressed hope that, besides adding emotion and logic to the product quality in the discussion, it will lead to innovative culture. Md. Abdur Rahim Khan, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce, said that although we missed three industrial revolutions, we are ahead of the fourth industrial revolution.
In the closing speech, Walton Managing Director Golam Morshed said that the electronics sector is the second potential child of Bangladesh after the garment industry. Although ‘Made in Bangladesh’ country branding is not well known, but we can be known as a name in world with automobiles and electronics. Together we can lead the world.
