The first International Advanced Technology (ATS) Expo-2023 is scheduled to be held at Hall-1 of International Convention City Bashundhara-ICCB. With world-class advanced technological solutions invented for the country’s industry Expo will continue from August 10 to 12. Bangladesh’s top global electronics company Walton is appearing in the fair with more than 50 thousand ATS exported to Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa. This industrial component and testing facility is being used as an import substitute product by various companies in the country which will save the country billions of dollars by reducing import dependency, according to Walton authorities. At the same time, more than 50 embassies and 28 international organizations will visit the fair through the Fair’s technical partner Export Promotion Bureau.
Golam Murshed, Managing Director and CEO of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC expressed such optimism in a press conference held at the fair venue on Wednesday (August 9). He said, the size of the economy of Bangladesh is 400 billion dollars. The main reason behind this is the rise of the electronics industry sector. Now we can proudly say that we manufacture about 70,000 components ourselves, out of 150,000 for each product. We are opening another door in this production capacity. Now anyone can source it and produce it themselves. There is no need to waste the country’s money and import from abroad.
Pointing out the international identity in production, Walton MD also said, besides getting Ilac-Applac recognition, we are in the second position in South Asia in chiller and BRF manufacturing. Through this Expo we will present the future of Bangladesh.
ATS Expo Chairman Walton’s DMD Md. Humayun Kabir read out the details of the organization the ATS Expo at the press conference. It is informed that various types of testing facilities will be displayed in the Testing Solutions category. Such as: Cable and Wire Lab, Noise Testing Lab, LED Lab, Nasdat UTS, Precision Engineering Laboratory, Product Quality Control Lab, Walton Science Research Lab and Walton Metallurgical Analysis and Research Lab. Also, in the Services category at the fair, Construction Services, Mold and Die, Power Press, Refrigerators and SMT (Surface Mounting Technology) will be included. In Product categories, Fridge, TV, Air Conditioner, Fastener, PCB, Home & Kitchen Appliances, Chemical, Masterbatches, Mond & Die, IT products etc. will be displayed. Along with the exhibition, a panel discussion on the role of domestic industry in building Smart Bangladesh will be held on August 11.
