‘NASA Junior Pilot Program’ was held on Saturday, 22 July 2023. The program wa jointly organized by Bangladesh Innovation Forum and Space Innovation Camp and supported by National Museum of Science and Technology. About 100 students aged 4 to 14 years participated in the workshop from all over Bangladesh.
In the event, the children were divided into different groups and they learned 11 practical works on micro gravity and supersonic sound system along with 10 types of paper work.
At the end of the workshop, while speaking as the chief guest, Professor of Robotics and Mechatronics Engineering Department of Dhaka University Dr. Lafifa Jamal said, “Our children are very talented. If we can give them proper guidance from now on, then we will see our future scientists from among our children and I applaud this organization of Bangladesh Innovation Forum and hope that such activities will continue.”
On behalf of the organizers, Ariful Hasan Apu, Crew Chief of Space Innovation Camp, said, “We hope that this program will continue as a part of various initiatives to encourage more science practice among children and adolescents in Bangladesh.”
In the event, Bangladesh’s team ‘Team Diamonds’, who became the global champion in the ‘Most Inspirational’ category of the world’s largest hackathon competition, NASA Space Apps Challenge, organized by the US space research organization NASA, was felicitated.
This event aims to popularize space science among children and teenagers and encourage children through various practical works in the subjects of science, technology, mathematics, space science and engineering. Creative Junior and event partner was EventFluent and e-ticketing partner e-Soft were the knowledge partners in the organization.
