This February, Samsung unveiled three flagship smartphones globally, the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra models. Out of these, the GalaxyS23 Ultra has come out as the most premium model. It has the latest specifications. One of the features of S23 Ultra is its camera. The selfie camera of the phone has now been tested by DXOMARK, where the phone has entered the list of ten best selfie camera smartphones in the world.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra’s selfie camera scored an overall score of 141 points in DXOMARK’s tests. This number is based on the selfie camera’s performance in the video and photo categories. It scored 145 points in videography and 139 points in photography.
DXOMark notes that the Galaxy S23’s selfie camera offers good exposure and wide dynamic range for both photos and videos.
But it is not that there is no problem at all. This Samsung Galaxy phone sometimes had some underexposure issues in low light scenes. It sometimes failed to deliver scene detail in low light and lacked contrast in photo mode.
Even so, DXOMark detected ghosting, ringing and hue shift artifacts in some captures. But aside from these, the device has garnered praise for its accurate white balance and natural-looking skin tones in bright and indoor lighting environments. Its autofocus was also fast and accurate. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has also been praised for its effective video stabilization.
Notably, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has taken ninth place in the global ranking for selfie camera among all smartphones tested by DXOMARK so far. On the other hand, it is ranked eighth in the Ultra-Premium ranking. That said, it is clear that Samsung has launched this year’s S-series flagship with a very good quality selfie camera.
