The Asia Pacific Network Information Center (APNIC) has assured technical assistance to Bangladesh in routing Internet Protocol Versions (IPV) 4 to 6 for upgrading Internet services.
APNIC Director General Paul Wilson gave this assurance during a courtesy meeting with the Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar on the last day of his visit to Bangladesh. During a meeting on Wednesday (May 10) afternoon, Paul Wilson expressed interest in providing all possible technical support for the implementation of IPv6.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on the need for expansion of broadband internet connectivity, benefits of building a digital connectivity highway in the country along with improved customer service. ISPAB President Imdadul Haque, General Secretary Nazmul Karim Bhuiyan were present at that time.
In the meeting, Paul Wilson gave the details of the progress of the country’s digital connectivity, the Minister of Telecommunications said, ‘The implementation of IPv6 is going on according to the plan. At the same time import of IPv4 and IPv6 supported routers has been imposed. I have introduced G technology.
Paul Wilson referred to the progress of Bangladesh’s digital connectivity as one of the region’s greatest successes. He also assured cooperation on proper training for network service providers including network engineers.
