BASIS will award the ‘Best Reporter of the Year’ from October
BASIS intends to award the best report in the IT sector every year nationally from next October. This announcement was made by BASIS President Russell T Ahmed while talking to journalists on Saturday at an Iftar Mahfil arranged by the BASIS. For this reason, he called on the two organizations BIJF and TMGB president Naznin Nahar and Md Kausar Uddin to form a policy and committee by next June.
In their presence, the names of the winners of ‘BASIS SoftExpo 2023 Best Reporting Awards’ were also announced in this event with the participation of around hundred media personnel. The winners in the three categories are: in digital medium category- Bangla Tribune’s senior staff reporter Hitler A. Halim, Imdadul Haque, Executive Editor of digibanglatech.news and Badal Khan, reporter of Prothom Alo. In the television category, the best awardees are Morsalin Junaid, staff reporter of Channel 24, Shubho Khan, staff reporter of Somoy TV and HM Sooja, producer of Ekhon TV.
On the other hand, Mahmudul Hasan of The Daily Star, Senior Staff Reporter of Dainik Sangbad Md. Kausar Uddin and Dainik Prothom Alo’s reporter Md. Rahitul Islam came first in the print category.
Senior Secretary and BIJF Vice President Bhuiyan Enam Lenin, BASIS Secretary Hashim Ahmed, Honor Committee Coordinator Badruddoza Mahmud, Media Coordinator Officer Imam Hasan and others were present in the event. BIJF and TMGB presidents both welcomed this initiative of BASIS on the occasion. At the same time, they expressed their thanks to the BASIS president and the executive committee for the tradition of meeting with media workers individually.
