Six students got tickets to China in the tenth edition of the Bangladesh phase of ‘Seeds for the Future 2023’ held in an effort to integrate students into the ICT ecosystem. They are – Mohammad Azmain Fatin of EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) Department of Dhaka University; Al Mumtahina Erika of the EEE Department of the Islamic University of Technology; Farsia Kawsar Chowdhury of BUET’s ME Department; Arpan Saha of EEE Department of Dhaka University; Mayisha Farzana of CSE Department of RUET and Sajid Ahmad Chowdhury of CSE Department of IUT.
They have been selected from more than 600 students with the ability to present innovative ideas based on sustainability in civic life. Among the 20 students in the final competition, the winners got the opportunity to visit the Huawei headquarters in Shenzhen, China and are going to participate in training in Shanghai next month.
Song Yang, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh, handed over the award certificates to the winners at the Huawei Bangladesh Academy in Gulshan on Thursday afternoon.
While speaking as a special guest, Islamic University of Technology (IUT) Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam praised this initiative.
Congratulating the winners, Pan Junfeng, President of Huawei South Asia and CEO of Huawei Bangladesh, expressed hope that through the Seeds for the Future program, young people will be able to make themselves qualified for the future world.
In the event, Huawei has trained more than 15,000 students worldwide in the past 15 years to increase the ability of young people to find innovative solutions to problems. Bangladesh is also helping students to become part of the ICT ecosystem.
