Son of a taxi driver is now the CEO of Microsoft’s AI division. Google DeepMind co-founder Mustafa Suleiman has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer by Microsoft. Mustafa Suleman himself reported this information on social media platform X. He wrote that he has joined Microsoft as the CEO of the new team. This team will be responsible for Microsoft’s AI products.
This team will be responsible for products like Copilot, Bing and Edge. In addition, he will also serve as Executive Vice President of Microsoft AI. He thus become a part of the senior team of the company. The team will report directly to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella.
Mustafa Suleiman co-founded AI lab DeepMind in 2010. DeepMind was later acquired by Google in 2014. Note that Google is trying to beat Microsoft in artificial intelligence through DeepMind. Mustafa Suleiman was once one of the leaders in that organization. However, he was on leave since 2019.
